Years 7 and 8
10 Marks
Students will discuss ideas and topics or give their thoughts on questions posed by Mrs James in relation to the weeks learning. The blog will give students the opportunity to practice reflective writing and give them a platform to express their feelings about media and it's meaning to our society.
Students will be marked on participation over the 10 week term.
Years 9 and 10
15 Marks
Students will discuss ideas and topics or give their thoughts on questions posed by Mrs James in relation to the weeks learning. The blog will give students the opportunity to practice reflective writing and give them a platform to express their feelings about media and it's meaning to our society.
Students will be marked on the quality of thier contribution (comments on others entries and relevance to the topic) and participation over the 10 week term.

Assessment 2 Portfolio
Portfolio
Years 7 to 10
40 Marks
The Portfolio is a working document that students will build upon over the course of the year, a resource that students can reflect on and use as a reference tool. The Portfolio will be a collection of work from the term and will include reflective writing. Students are asked to think critically about what to include and the quality of the work being presented. The portfolio should deliver clear evidence of your learning over the unit.
Students will be assessed on the overall presentation of work, reflective writing, understanding of key terms and concepts, cross curricular understanding of social and cultural values and beliefs and how media represents meaning and influence, identify specific features of media artworks and plan, structure and design media artwork. Students Story boards will be included along with a copy of their presentation speech which will include a clear, concise description of the product along with a reflection on the reasons for choosing the artwork to base the story upon and how they developed their idea based on their understanding of the social values and beliefs represented in the artwork story.

Develop an idea, plan, structure and produce a short animation using comic life based on their interpretation of the ideas, purpose and values presented in a piece of art presented on the 12 canoes website. (ACAMAM069)
Consider the elements of media and how they can help convey the message or purpose of their piece. Consideration should also be given to the target audience and you will engage and reach that audience. You should be able to justify your choices for the distribution of their piece and consider cultural protocols for using images of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. (ACAMAM070)
You will be marked on your ability to develop and refine your media production skills to shape the technical and symbolic elements of image, sounds and text. (ACAMAM068) You will also be marked on their ability show how their product represents familiar or shared cultural and social values and beliefs including Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Peoples. You should be conscious of how their representation of social and cultural values effects perception of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander People and they should consider the elements of Media and how the technical and symbolic elements evoke a personal response. (ACAMAM074)
